Good to know

Metal holds no moisture of its own and moves heat quickly, so a plant that likes damp soil dries out sooner here than it would in a glazed pot. Pothos, ivy, and string of pearls are comfortable in it. A maidenhair fern will sulk.

Care

Dry cloth, no scouring pad. Painted metal and standing water are a slow argument you lose, so tip out anything that pools underneath rather than letting it sit through a wet week.
