Handles are what separate a tray from a board. These are woven rattan with a handle on each side and a tight weave across the middle, in a 12 in (30.5 cm) round or a 12 x 9 in (30.5 x 23 cm) rectangle.

Either shape takes two mugs and a small pot, or a spread of crackers and a couple of cheeses. The round one suits a coffee table where people reach from all sides. The rectangle at 12 x 9 in (30.5 x 23 cm) sits better on a narrow console or across an ottoman.

Good to know

Woven surfaces are not flat surfaces. A full wine glass on a weave leans a degree or two, so put a coaster or a plate under anything with a stem and a high center of gravity.

Crumbs go into the weave and stay there, and rattan hates a soak. Turn it over and knock it out over the bin, wipe it with a damp cloth, and let it dry all the way before you stack anything back on it.
