Curtains hang right when the fabric across the window runs about twice the window width, so a 52 in (132 cm) window wants roughly 104 in (264 cm) of panel to gather instead of stretching flat. Measure length from the rod down, not from the top of the frame, or you will land short by the depth of your brackets.

Embroidered sheers snag. Keep them off a cat's climbing route and away from the chair back that rubs the same spot every day. Weight matters too: a 118.1 in (300 cm) panel needs a real rod on brackets, and a thin tension rod will bow in the middle within a week.
