A gooseneck spout puts water at the root line instead of across the leaves, which is the difference between a happy peace lily and a shelf with a water ring on it. This one is brass, holds 44 oz (1300 ml), and is built to stay out on the shelf between waterings rather than live under the sink.

15.31 x 5.12 x 7.75 in (38.9 x 13 x 19.7 cm). Just over a foot from handle to spout tip, it takes about the same shelf space as a boxed pair of shoes, and at 7.75 in (19.7 cm) tall it slides under most kitchen faucets without tilting.

Care

Empty it after a round and wipe the inside dry. Brass left standing with water picks up a dull line at the waterline, and once that darkens it stays. Dust comes off with a soft cloth; skip abrasive pads, which leave fine scratches you can see across the whole body in raking light.

Good to know

A gooseneck pours a stream, not a shower. That suits potted plants, window boxes and anything you water at the soil, while seed trays and young seedlings want a finer spread than this shape can give. Filling it also means filling it: 44 oz of brass and water is a two hand job at the tap.
