A tea ball leaks leaf dust into the cup and then drips across the counter on its way to the sink. This is a ceramic infuser shaped like a closed parasol: the perforated body sits down in the pot, and a swiveling handle with a tassel on it lifts the whole thing out in one motion.
The blue floral pattern runs over the ceramic and the perforations are cut for loose leaf tea and dried herbs. Coffee is another matter. Ground coffee is finer than tea leaf, and a filter sized for leaves will let the smallest of it through into the cup.

Good to know
The saucer is the part people skip and then regret. An infuser lifted out of a hot pot has to go somewhere, and without a saucer that somewhere is a brown ring on the table. If you pour for guests it also gives the used filter a place to sit that looks deliberate rather than parked.
Care
Hand wash and stand it upside down to drain. Tea tannin stains ceramic over a few months, and a soak in warm water with baking soda pulls it out better than scrubbing does. Scrubbing only wears at the painted pattern, which is the one part you cannot get back.
