Two ounces of whiskey in a 12.8 oz (380 ml) glass leaves a lot of air above the liquid, and that air is where the aroma collects on its way to you. Fill this one a third of the way and stop.
It is a handmade glass tumbler made with the traditional Edo technique, with a curved profile drawn from the path of a comet, and it arrives in a wooden box.

That is a tall tumbler rather than a squat rocks glass, so it takes a large ice cube and a long pour of water without reaching the rim.
Materials
Heat resistant glass, which means the same tumbler takes hot tea in the morning and cold spirits at night. Each one is worked by hand, so the curve and the wall thickness shift a little from glass to glass. That is the trade for buying handmade, and it is visible if you line two of them up.
