Twenty inches of lit branches sits at the height of a table lamp, which is the right scale for a console or a mantel and the wrong one for the floor. The branches are bare and twisted rather than leafy, with 24 small LEDs set along them, and a timer that brings it back on at the same time each evening once you have set it.

Size

20 in (51 cm) tall. Put it on a console, an entry table or a mantel where the branches are near eye level. On the floor beside a doorway it reads as a bare twig and nothing more.

Care

Bend the branches out by hand when it comes out of the box, and again each year. Dust it with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which catches on the wire and drags the LEDs out of position.

Good to know

Twenty four points of light on bare branches is atmosphere, not illumination. It will not light a hallway, and on batteries it wants a fresh set of three AAs after a season of nightly use. Run it from the USB cable if it is going to live somewhere near an outlet.
