Gold reads as loud or as quiet depending on the shape carrying it. This one is low and wide rather than tall, with a narrow 2 in (5 cm) opening at the top, so it sits on a mantel or a console as a sculpture first and a vase second. One vessel per order.

Size

The large is 13 in (33 cm) long and 10 in (24 cm) wide, roughly the footprint of a laptop lying flat. Give it a surface with real depth: on a narrow floating shelf, the front edge will overhang.

Care

Dust it with a dry cloth. Keep water away from a gold finish and fill it with dried stems instead, because a waterline mark on gold does not polish out the way it does on glazed white.

Good to know

A 2 in (5 cm) opening takes a handful of dried stems, pampas or eucalyptus, held upright by the neck. A supermarket bouquet will not go in, and forcing one in snaps the stems at the rim. Buy it for the shape, and treat the opening as a bonus.
