Cold at a desk starts at the floor. A room heater warms the air near the ceiling first and reaches your feet last, which is why the thermostat can read fine while your toes stay numb. This is a soft sided, foldable drum that sits under the desk: you rest your feet and lower legs on it, and radiant heat stays in that pocket instead of going up into the room.

Level 1 is for a whole working morning. Level 3 is for the twenty minutes after you come in from outside.
Care
Unplug it and let it cool before folding it away. Do not store it with the cord wrapped tight around the body.
Good to know
It heats the space under the desk, not the room. Stand up and you leave the warmth behind, which is exactly the point if you have been arguing with a housemate about the thermostat. It also plugs into the wall, so its range ends at the cord.
