Each tray has a ruffled wave edge instead of a plain rim, and the post is a gold tone with a scrolled handle at the top, which is what you lift the loaded stand by when it moves to the table.

Care
Hand wash the trays and dry the post rather than leaving it sitting wet. Standing water dulls a gold tone finish faster than daily use ever will.
Good to know
The trays are shallow, so anything with syrup or sauce finds the edge on the way to the table. Keep the wet food on the bottom tier and the dry food up top, and the tablecloth survives the evening.
It is not a cake stand. A frosted layer cake needs one flat plate, not a tier with a post running up through the middle of it.
