Coated Fabric Planter Basket with Fold Down Rim

Fabric solves something a ceramic pot cannot. When a plant grows past the height of its cover, you unroll the rim and get the height back, and when it looks too tall for a low shelf you fold the rim down twice and it sits lower. The muslin is coated on the inside and crinkles more the more you handle it.

Size

The small is 4 x 4 in (10 x 10 cm), which is exactly the plastic nursery pot a supermarket herb or a small succulent arrives in. Measure across the top of that pot and match the number rather than judging by the plant, because the leaves always look bigger than the roots.

Good to know

Do not water the plant while it sits in the basket. Lift the nursery pot out, water it at the sink, let it drain properly and put it back. Fabric and standing water reach an understanding eventually, and it is never in your favor.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth. The crinkled texture relaxes and softens as you handle it, which is the look rather than a fault, so there is nothing to press out.
