Two vases sold under one name are usually the same shape at two scales. These are not. One sits close to square in profile at 6.5 x 7.5 in (16.5 x 19.2 cm), the other runs 5 x 11 in (13 x 28.5 cm), so on a shelf they read as two different objects rather than a matched pair.

Size

A wine bottle stands about 12 in (30 cm), so the elongated size comes up just short of one and the squat size sits at roughly two thirds of that. Short stems suit the squat one; anything you cut long needs the taller piece to stop it toppling.

Good to know

Hand painted means the brush lands differently every time. Two bought together will not match stroke for stroke, so buy them as a deliberate pair of near misses or buy one and stop there.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth and wash by hand. Painted detail and a dishwasher cycle end the same way every time, with the pattern thinner than it was. For fresh flowers, stand a glass inside and change the water in that instead.
