An inward swinging door and a thick mat make a bad pair: the mat wedges, the door stalls halfway, and you end up kicking it flat every time you come home. This one is flat woven with a velvet feel polyester face, printed as a bed of river stones with a slate panel reading Welcome across the middle.

Size
Most front doors run 32 to 36 in (81 to 91 cm) wide. The medium stops a little short of that opening, which looks deliberate on a narrow step, while the large one sits nearly frame to frame.

Good to know
The stones are printed, not woven in relief, so the depth is in the picture and the surface underfoot stays smooth. That also means this is no boot scraper: a plush face holds grit rather than combing it off, and it dries slowly once soaked. Keep it under a porch roof or just inside the door.
Care
Shake it out and vacuum it like a rug. A stiff brush scrubs the print before it moves the dirt, so save that for the coir mat outside.
