The first job of a doormat is to match the door above it. Most of them come up a third narrower than the opening, which reads as a bath mat that wandered outside and stayed.
This one is a half circle, with a deep green marbled center inside an ornate gold border, in two sizes.

A standard exterior door is 36 in wide. The large mat at 35 in runs almost the full width of the opening, which is the proportion that looks deliberate rather than accidental. The medium at 31 in leaves a few inches of threshold showing on each side and sits better under a narrower interior door.
Good to know
Keep it under an overhang. A patterned mat left out in open rain and full sun gives up its color in a season, and gold detail is the first thing to go. If your entry has nothing over it, this is the wrong mat for the spot.
Care
Shake it out and vacuum it rather than hosing it down. Water pushed all the way through a mat takes days to dry from underneath, and underneath is where the smell starts.
