Size

The chamber measures 4.3 in (11 cm) across, which takes half an orange, a whole lemon or a wedge of watermelon comfortably. Half a grapefruit is a squeeze and usually wants trimming first. At 9.3 in (23.6 cm) the press goes in a drawer instead of living out on the counter.

Good to know

The lever multiplies what your arm can do, so soft citrus gives up easily while a firm pomegranate still takes both hands and some of your weight. Load fruit cut side down so the peel takes the pressure, and cut everything a little smaller than you think it needs.

Care

Rinse it the moment you finish. Citric acid left sitting on aluminum dulls the surface, and dried pulp in the perforations turns a ten second rinse into a job with a brush.
