A cold glass sweats onto a table within a minute, and the ring it leaves in an oiled or waxed finish does not always come out. Six pine coasters and a square wooden caddy handle the everyday version of that problem: one glass, one coaster, back in the holder when the drink is done.

Each coaster is turned from pine with a raised rim around the edge and finished in one of two stains, Wheat or SaddleBrown.

Size

3.1 in (7.9 cm) is a shade wider than a soda can, which leaves about a quarter inch of wood showing around the base. A wide tumbler or a stemless wine glass will overhang the rim, and when it overhangs, the drip lands on the table instead of in the coaster. Measure the base of the glass you actually drink from.

Good to know

The old listing calls the wood waterproof and heat resistant without naming a finish or a temperature. Pine is a soft wood and a stain is a surface treatment, so wipe these dry, keep a fresh pot of coffee off them, and expect the rim to take dents from a heavy glass set down hard. They protect against condensation, which is the thing that actually happens every evening.
