Sculptural plates photograph beautifully and then get tested by a bowl of pasta. This one is ceramic, glazed, and pressed into creases and folds so the surface reads like paper that has been bent rather than a flat disc.
Two widths: 8 in (20 cm) and 11 in (28 cm). The first is a dessert and appetizer plate, the second is a dinner plate, and the choice matters more here than on a plain round plate because the folds eat into the usable middle.

8 in (20 cm) is standard salad plate width and 11 in (28 cm) is standard dinner plate width, so they slot into a cupboard next to plates you already own.
Good to know
A folded plate does not stack like a flat one. Set two on top of each other and the creases meet at the high points, so a column of six leans. Store them in twos or threes, or stand them on edge in a rack. Anything with a thin sauce will also find the lowest fold and sit there, which suits olive oil and works against a soup.
