Cotton rope softens a wall the way a flat print never will, because knots catch the light on one side and throw a shadow on the other. This is a cream macrame hanging, knotted by hand and suspended from a rope wrapped around a natural bamboo peg, in a moon, star, dreamcatcher, or owl style.

Care

Vacuum it on the lowest setting with the brush head, working down the strands rather than across them. Keep it away from water: wet cotton rope tightens as it dries, which pulls the knots out of line and takes the shape with it.

Good to know

Cream cotton on a white wall reads as texture and almost nothing else, so it does its best work against a color or a wood panel where the shadow has somewhere to fall. If you want the glow, a string of warm fairy lights woven through the strands is a separate purchase.
