Size

7 in (17.8 cm) tall and 2.4 in (6.1 cm) across the front, roughly twice the height of a coffee mug. A mouth that narrow keeps a few stems leaning on each other instead of splaying to the sides, which is the whole reason a bud vase exists.

Care

Warm water, a drop of dish soap, and a soft cloth. Keep glass cleaner away from it: the ammonia in most bottles crazes acrylic into a web of fine cracks that never comes out, and a rough sponge leaves a haze you cannot polish off.

Good to know

Acrylic weighs a fraction of what glass does, which is good news on a high shelf and bad news under a top heavy branch. Weighted down with water it stays put; left dry with a long stem in it, it goes over the first time a door slams.
