A wall lamp with a push button on the body means walking to the wall to switch it on and walking back to switch it off. Worth knowing first, because it decides where the thing belongs: a hallway you pass anyway, a landing, the wall beside a stair, and not the far corner of a bedroom.

It is a wall mounted light moulded as a bird with its wings spread, lit from inside by LED strips so the glow comes through the shell. Pick the eagle or the owl.

Good to know

Two keyhole slots is a simple fixing and an unforgiving one. The screws have to be level with each other and the right distance apart, or the bird hangs crooked and there is no adjustment to be had. Mark the wall off the back of the lamp itself rather than off a ruler.

This is an atmosphere light: it reads at night and it disappears by day. In a lit room you are looking at a molded bird on a wall, so choose between the eagle and the owl on how each one looks switched off as much as on how it glows.

Batteries are the running cost and the whole of the maintenance. Reaching them means lifting the lamp off its screws, so hang it somewhere you can get to without a ladder unless you have a taste for that errand.
