A crescent leaves less room inside than the outline suggests. The planting cavity sits in the belly of the curve, so what you get is a shallow pocket for one succulent or a few air plants, not the volume a 5.9 in (15 cm) pot would normally imply.

Size

At 5.9 x 5.1 in (15 x 13 cm) the whole moon is about the span of an outstretched hand, and the hollow inside it is a fraction of that again. It works on a windowsill, a nightstand or a desk. On a wide console it simply disappears, which is a large part of why the three finish set exists.

Good to know

Plant it with succulents, air plants or one small trailing vine and stop there. Anything that wants root depth will be root bound within a season, and a crescent has no depth to offer.

Water finds the drainage hole and then finds your furniture. Stand it on a small dish, or carry it to the sink, water it there and let it finish draining before it goes back on wood.
