It is a tabletop planter for several small plants in a row, with a drainage hole in the base and a choice of three heights.

Good to know

The drainage hole changes how you water it. Once the planter is up on a stand, whatever runs through goes straight down onto the table, so either slide a tray underneath or lift the planter out and water it at the sink.

At 11.1 oz (315 g) it is light, and the stand puts what weight there is up high. Plant it with low growing things and let a trailing plant hang off one end: that pulls the eye down instead of pulling the whole arrangement over. Anything tall and top heavy wants a pot with a wider base.

It suits succulents, small herbs and rooted cuttings. Nothing with a serious root system belongs in a trough this shallow, and a plant that needs repotting every spring will outgrow it by summer.
