At 8.45 oz (250 mL) this holds about a third of a 750 mL wine bottle, which makes it a decanter in shape more than in duty. It is a shelf piece with a pour in it, built for a home bar rather than for a table of guests.

It is a commemorative decanter for the 250th anniversary of American independence, printed with Founding Fathers artwork and a Declaration of Independence scene, carrying the words We The People and E Pluribus Unum, and topped with a stopper modeled on the Liberty Bell.

Size

At 5.9 in (15 cm) tall it stands well below a wine bottle and about half again the height of a rocks glass, so it fits a standard cabinet shelf upright with the stopper on. It reads small beside full size decanters, which is an argument for putting it at the front of the shelf rather than in the back row.

Good to know

The artwork sits on the outside, and that is the part that decides how you clean it. Rinse the inside with warm water and stand it to drain; a dishwasher cycle is what lifts color off raised detail after a few rounds.

Take it as a display piece first. It is finished for a shelf rather than for pouring at a dinner, and at this capacity it would be one round anyway.
