Levitating Plant Pot with Rotating Magnetic Base

The weight limit is the whole story here. The pot carries up to 10.6 oz (300 g), and that has to cover the plant, its roots and every bit of soil around them. A dry handful of cactus mix with a small succulent in it fits. A four inch pot of damp compost does not.

It is a magnetic base with an ABS pot that hangs about 0.8 in (2 cm) above it and turns slowly while it floats.

Good to know

It floats only while the base is powered, so it needs a socket within cable reach and it stays switched on. Cut the power and the pot comes down onto the base.

Give the base something level and solid to stand on. A shelf that shakes when someone walks past pushes the pot off center, and off center is where it drops.

Water it off the base. Lift the pot down, water it sparingly at the sink, wipe the outside dry, then set it back over the middle and let it settle into the field. Watering it while it hovers is how water gets into the base.

Air plants, small cacti and a young bonsai are what this suits. Anything with a real root ball is over the limit before you have watered it. The slow turn does even out which side of the plant faces the window, but it is not a replacement for the window.
