This is a cast resin octopus that works as a mug tree. The curled tentacles are the hooks, and it takes up to eight cups at once.

Size

At 10.6 in (27 cm) across and the same again in height, it occupies about the footprint of a dinner plate on the counter. Measure the gap under your wall cabinets before you commit, because the mugs hang above that 10.6 in and they are what actually has to fit.

Good to know

Resin takes a knock better than ceramic and worse than metal, so keep it back from the counter edge where a passing elbow finds it. Dust the tentacles with a dry brush rather than a cloth: the weathered finish sits down in the recesses where a cloth skates over the top.

It is a holder, not a drying rack. Mugs go on it dry, or you get a ring of water on the counter under every one of them.
