A long spout exists for one reason: to get water past the leaves and onto the soil without you lifting the plant or soaking the shelf. Reaching over a monstera, into a hanging basket, behind the row of pots on a windowsill, that is the work this shape does and a kitchen jug does badly.

Good to know

A narrow spout pours a stream, not a shower. For pots that is exactly right. For a tray of seedlings or freshly sown soil it digs a channel, so use a bottle cap or a spray for those and keep this for established plants.

Care

Empty it between uses rather than storing it full. Standing water in a warm room grows a film inside the spout, and a blocked spout on a watering can is noticed at the worst moment, over a rug.
