Good to know
Warm honey runs and cold honey does not. If the kitchen sits cool overnight, the first squeeze of the morning gives you a slow thread rather than a stream, and honey that has begun to crystallize will not pass a narrow spout at all. Stand the whole thing in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes and it comes back.
Care
Rinse the spout and the stopper in hot water as soon as the jar runs low, before the last of it sets around the seat of the valve. On every dispenser built this way, that is the part that stops working first.
