Cuttings root in water in a few weeks, and most of the ones that fail do so for one of two reasons: a leaf left below the water line, or water nobody changed. A propagation vase handles the second by putting the whole operation at eye level where it is hard to ignore. The triple runs 11 in (28 cm) wide, about the long side of a sheet of letter paper, so measure the sill before you commit to it. All three sit 2.4 in (6 cm) deep, which is the number that decides whether the window closes over it.

Good to know

Keep the node under water and the leaves above it, and change the water weekly. Pothos, monstera, and philodendron forgive almost everything. Woody cuttings like rosemary and lavender rot before they root, in this or in anything else.

It is a water vessel, not a pot. Once roots run an inch or two, the cutting wants soil, and one left in glass for months sulks when you finally move it across.
