Cuttings die at the point nobody is looking: the water goes cloudy behind a solid pot and the stem is soft by the time it gets checked. Clear glass takes that away. You see the water line, the color of the water and the first white root, all from across the desk.

Clear borosilicate glass bulb in an A frame natural wood stand.
Wood in sienna or tan.
One, two or three bulbs to a stand.
The bulb lifts out, so it empties without moving the stand.

Materials

Borosilicate glass in a natural wood frame. Borosilicate takes a temperature change without complaint, which matters mostly when you rinse a cold bulb under a hot tap in January.

Care

Change the water once a week and rinse the glass while it is empty. Algae films the inside of a bulb faster than roots fill it, and once the film is there it needs a bottle brush rather than a rinse.

Good to know

Roots outgrow a bulb of this kind. When they mat against the glass the cutting wants soil, and the stand goes back to holding the next one. Treat it as a nursery rather than a pot.

About us

Welcome to HollowMade. We hunt for the pieces that make a room worth walking into: vessels, lighting and sculpture, picked one at a time and kept on our own shelves.

Chosen, not listed - Every piece is handled and checked before it ships. If it would not earn a place in our own home, it does not make the catalogue.

Fair prices, quietly - We keep the range tight and the margins honest, so a good object costs what it should and reaches your door wherever you are.

A person on the other end - Write to us and someone reads it. Before the order, after the order, either way.
