A pothos cutting in a water glass on the kitchen windowsill is how most propagation starts, and how most of it gets tipped down the sink by whoever is tidying. Giving the glass a stand is the whole trick: it looks deliberate, so it survives.

At 2.75 x 2.75 x 4.13 in (7 x 7 x 10.5 cm) it is about the height of a coffee cup, which means it fits on a windowsill behind the tap and on the shallow shelf above a desk. Three in a row hold three cuttings at three stages, which reads better than one on its own.
Care
Lift the glass out of the stand and rinse it every few days. Water left standing goes cloudy from the bottom up, and roots sitting in it turn brown before you notice the smell.
Good to know
This holds a cutting or two and nothing more. Once the roots fill the glass the plant wants soil, and the stand goes back to work on the next cutting rather than becoming the plant's permanent home.
