Size
The 11 x 14 in (28 x 36 cm) surface is roughly a standard placemat, which is the size that still fits flat in a tote bag. Six sections means six things: a cheese, a meat, a cracker, a fruit, a nut and something sweet. A crowd of ten needs a second board or a table.
Care
Wipe the bamboo down with a damp cloth and stand it on edge to dry. Bamboo left flat and damp goes gray along the joins, and the sealing strips hold moisture longer than the wood does.
Good to know
Anything wet is the thing to watch. Marinated olives, soft cheese and cut melon leach into a bamboo surface if they sit there through an afternoon, so keep the loose liquid in a small dish set inside its section.
