Measure the tabletop first, then subtract it from the cloth: what is left is the drop, split between two sides. The medium is square and the large is long, so match the shape of the table before you pick the size.
Care
Machine wash it and hang it to dry. A hot dryer presses a crease into polyester that an iron then has to argue with.
Good to know
Polyester does not absorb. A knocked over glass runs to the edge of the table instead of soaking in, which is good for the cloth and bad for the floor, so a coaster still earns its place under anything tall.
