The cup is not floating. The coin stream beneath it is a solid resin leg cast in one piece with the base, and once you see that, the piece reads as sculpture instead of a trick. It stands 7.8 in (20 cm), which puts it at desk and shelf height rather than floor height.
It is decoration sold on an idea, wealth pouring in, and it is aimed at a desk, an office shelf or an entry table where a plain object would go unread.
