Face planters usually pick one trick and hold it: a nose, or a pair of closed eyes, in the same off white finish as everything else on the shelf. This one goes the other way, with color blocks, two mismatched eyes and a raised strip running down the middle of the face in painted resin.

Size

At about 5 in (13 cm) tall this is a desk object, roughly the height of a coffee mug. A small succulent or a herb still in its plastic pot fits inside. A plant that has already been potted on twice will wear the pot rather than sit in it.

Good to know

Keep the plant in its nursery pot and lower that in, then lift it out to water at the sink. Painted resin also chalks in strong sun, so a covered porch is fine and a south facing sill will thin the colors over one summer.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth. The paint sits in ridges along the raised features and those ridges hold dust, so a dry soft brush clears them faster than a cloth that just rides over the top.
