A clear sphere works like a lens. On a sunny windowsill it focuses a hot point of light onto whatever sits behind it, so keep it off paper, fabric and finished wood anywhere the sun lands directly.

Away from that one spot it does the job you bought it for: it holds the room upside down inside itself and reads sharp against a plain shelf. Seven diameters, with a wooden base, a crystal base or no base at all.

The 30 mm sphere is marble sized and disappears on a wide shelf. The 100 mm one is close to a grapefruit and heavy enough that it wants the base.

Ordered with no base, a sphere rolls. On a glass shelf it rolls until it is no longer on the shelf.
