At 55 in (140 cm) across it overhangs a standard dining table by about a hand's width each side, which is what you want, because drips run off the edge instead of pooling at the seam. For the length, measure your table and take the size that hangs over at both ends. Trimming vinyl to fit leaves a raw edge that catches on a sleeve, so hanging long is the better mistake.
Good to know
Clear vinyl is not invisible. It carries a sheen under a ceiling light and it reads as a cover from across the room, which is the trade you make for a table you can wipe with one hand.
Heat resistant is also not heatproof. A warm serving dish is fine; a pan straight off the burner leaves a cloudy patch that never comes back. And on a waxed or oiled wood top, vinyl left down permanently traps moisture against the finish, so lift it every few weeks and let the table breathe.
