A balloon dog reads as a joke from the doorway and as a solid object up close, which is the whole trick. This one is cast resin, hand painted, 8.1 in (20.5 cm) nose to tail and 6.9 in (17.5 cm) tall.

8.1 in (20.5 cm) long, 3.3 in (8.5 cm) wide and 6.9 in (17.5 cm) tall, so it takes about the shelf space of a hardback lying on its side. On a narrow floating shelf the legs will overhang the front edge, which is worth measuring before you commit rather than after.

Resin is heavier than it looks and softer than it sounds. A knock off a console chips the paint at the nose first, which is the part everyone looks at, so keep it back from the edge if a dog or a toddler works the room. It is decoration, not a toy.
