Grocery store bouquets come with stems built for a tall vase, and these are not that. The largest of the three stands 4.7 in (11.9 cm), so every stem gets cut down before it goes in, and having three heights lets you run an arrangement along a table instead of massing it all in one jar.

The small one is about the height of a shot glass and the large about a coffee mug. Lined up together the three take roughly the shelf run of a few spice jars, which is why they suit a windowsill or a bathroom shelf better than a dining table centerpiece.
Good to know
Glass this short shows the water line and the cut ends, so change the water every couple of days or the arrangement becomes a study of stems. Nothing here carries a peony with its foliage attached either. Strip the lower leaves or the flower will not sit straight.
