Cut metal only draws patterns in a dark room. Under a ceiling light it is a lantern with a candle in it and nothing appears on the wall, so this is an object for the part of the evening when the other lights go off.

Care
Dust the cut work with a dry brush, since a cloth catches on every edge of the pattern. Outdoors, bring it in over winter: water sitting in the base of a lantern is what marks a finish from the inside out.
