A classical bust is one of the few decor objects that changes a room by being the only thing on the shelf. This one takes the head of David, finishes it matte in a deep blue, and raises it on a slim gold post above a white base, so the whole piece reads as three colors and one shape.

Size

12.2 in (31 cm) tall, which is a sheet of letter paper stood on its long edge plus an inch. Big enough to hold a shelf on its own, small enough that it does not need a plinth or a corner of its own.

Good to know

A head on a single post is top heavy by design. Give it a shelf that does not get knocked and keep it back from the edge of a console in a hallway, because resin chips at the nose and the chin first, and those are the two places you notice.

Care

Dust it with a dry soft brush. A matte finish holds fingerprints and oil from hands more visibly than a glazed one, so lift it by the base rather than the head when you move it.
