The large is close to a bath towel laid flat, which is the size that runs the length of a standard tub. The medium suits a shower door or a sink run, where a full towel width would foul the swing of the door.

Good to know
A non slip backing needs a smooth floor to work against: sealed tile, vinyl, finished wood. On textured stone, or laid on top of another rug, it has nothing to grip and it will walk across the room by the end of the week.
Care
Wash it cool and keep it out of a hot dryer. Heat is what hardens a backing and curls the corners, and a curled corner is the thing you catch a toe on in the dark.
