A faucet that only points straight down makes you work around it: rinsing hair in a bathroom sink, washing your face without soaking a shirt, chasing toothpaste off the far rim of the basin. This one goes on the end of the spout and lets the water aim instead.

Good to know
Look at the tip of your spout before you order. Attachments like this need a plain threaded end to hold onto, and a pull down sprayer head or a shaped decorative tip gives them nothing to grip. Two minutes with a flashlight under the spout saves a return.
Anything that turns 1080 degrees is a joint, and joints seep. Tighten it by hand rather than with a wrench, which crushes the washer, and look under the sink after the first week. A slow drip at a new connection shows up as a ring on the cabinet floor long before you hear it.
Care
Rinse it out every few months. Hard water leaves scale wherever a bubble stream gets made, and a stream that has gone splashy is almost always scale rather than a broken part. A soak in white vinegar clears it.
