Every shaped pillow on a bed is one more thing to move at night, so it has to be worth the trip to the chair. This one is a butterfly: two wings padded through the middle, with lace running the length of the outer edge and a raised body down the center.

It does its best work on an accent chair, where a plain square cushion looks like it came with the furniture, and on a made bed in front of the pillows you actually sleep on. White, purple or pink.

Care

Spot clean the lace by hand. A machine cycle pulls the trim loose where the wings curve, and a dryer sets the creases it puts in the velvet.

Good to know

It is a decorative cushion, not back support. Wings this shape flatten under real weight and take their time coming back, so keep it in front of the pillows that do the work rather than behind your spine on the sofa.

Keep it out of a crib. Loose pillows have no business in one, whatever shape they are cut into.
