A lantern that lights from the inside puts its glow at shelf height, which is exactly where the eye lands in a dark room. This one has two ravens perched facing each other over a small paneled lantern, molded flowers between them, and an octagonal base with a floral relief running around the rim.

Care
A dry brush through the feather detail and the floral work on the base. Every raised edge on a piece like this collects dust, and a damp cloth drags it into the recesses instead of taking it off.

The amber panels are small and the light stays inside them, so this is a piece that glows rather than one that lights. On a bookshelf at eye level it carries a corner of the room; asked to light a desk you are working at, it will not.
