Materials

Beech in a pale wheat tone or black walnut in a darker brown, both sanded smooth, with brass fittings. Wood in a bathroom lives or dies on how fast the room dries out, so an extractor fan or a window that opens is doing half the work here.

Care

Wipe it dry rather than wet. Standing water at the joint where the wood meets the wall is what lifts a finish first, and brass takes a dry cloth better than it takes any cleaner.

Good to know

It screws to the wall, which means holes and a drill, and on tile it means the right bit and a steady hand. There is no adhesive version, so it is the wrong fitting for a rental where you cannot put a screw in the wall.
