Care
Hand wash it and dry it straight away so the enamel does not spot. Never heat it empty: enamel is glass fused to metal, and dry heat is what puts the first crack in it.
Good to know
The bell rings every time you lift the kettle, which is either the charm or the problem depending on how early you get up. Enamel also chips where it meets anything hard, so fill it under the middle of the tap rather than knocking the rim against the faucet, and a chip on the inside is not one you want to keep boiling water in.
