Two openings, one in the head and one in the hand, and the hand is smaller than most people picture when they order. That one takes a single small cactus or one rooted succulent. The head takes something that spills over the forehead rather than something that stands upright.

It is a resin figure lying back at his ease, cast as a planter: the head is hollowed out to hold a plant, and one hand holds a second, smaller pot.

Size

At 9.8 in (25 cm) long and 4.3 in (11 cm) across, he is about a paperback laid flat and takes the same shelf depth. Length is not the constraint though, the head opening is: whatever you plant has to arrive in a small nursery pot, because a wide plastic grower pot will sit on top of him rather than drop in.

Good to know

Treat him as a cachepot rather than a pot. Water a little at a time, or leave the plant in its nursery pot and lift it out over the sink to water it properly. A succulent standing in water it cannot get away from is the usual way this ends.

He is decor with a plant in him, not a growing pot. Give him something that stays small: a fern will fill the head in a season and stop looking like a hairstyle.
