Wider than it is tall, which changes what you can put in it. At 10 in (25.4 cm) across and 8 in (20.3 cm) high, this is a low, broad vessel with faces worked around the body, closer to a centerpiece than to a mantel vase.

Size

10 in (25.4 cm) across is about the width of a dinner plate, and 8 in (20.3 cm) of height keeps it under eye level across a dining table. On a narrow hall shelf, that same width will hang over the front edge.

Good to know

Treat it as a dry vase and stand a small glass inside for fresh stems. Short, heavy headed flowers suit the proportions. Anything long stemmed leans out over that wide rim and takes the balance of the whole thing with it.

Care

Wipe it with a dry cloth. Resin marks where a damp cloth has been left sitting, so dust rather than wash, and keep it off a sill where condensation runs down the glass in winter.
