Breading in an open bowl coats the counter as thoroughly as it coats the chicken. This is a lidded box that does the same job with the mess shut inside it.

Three parts: a deep base that holds the seasoned flour, a sifting insert the food sits on, and a lid that closes over the top. Load it, close it, shake it, lift the insert out.

Care

All three parts go on the top rack of the dishwasher. Shake the dry crumb into the trash first, because flour and hot water make paste.

Good to know

This is a dry breading tool. Wet batter clogs the sifter and turns the whole box into a chore, so keep the egg wash in a separate dish and use this for the flour and crumb stages.

It coats. It does not crisp. The frying is still on you.
