35.4 in (90 cm) covers the floor under a two seat bistro set with the chairs pulled in. 47.2 in (120 cm) takes a small round table and still lets you push a chair back without the rear legs dropping off the edge, which is the test that decides between the two.
Good to know
The pebbles are printed, not raised. From standing height the shading reads as depth; crouch next to it and you are looking at a photograph, and that is the honest expectation to arrive with.
Round mats also curl at the edge when they ship folded. Lay it flat in the sun for an afternoon before you decide it will not sit right.
